Beauty v. Darkness, Physical v. Metaphysical

My goal in art is to consider the relationships between physical and metaphysical realities; to interact with concepts and entities of the metaphysical plane by creating for them a physical form. I explore beauty and its subjective nature as well as the darkness that rivals it, and even the overlap between the two; the dark things that are beautiful either despite or because of their brokenness, and the beautiful things that are tinged with darkness and pain just beneath the surface.
